I speak from the deep of night.
From the deep of dark
And the deep of night, I speak:
Should you come to my house, friend, bring me a lamp
And a window from which
To gaze at the crowds cavorting down in the glad alley.

هديه
فروغ فرخزاد
من از نهايت شب حرف مىزنم
من از نهايت تاريكى
و از نهايت شب حرف مىزنم
اگر به خانۂ من آمدى براى من اى مهربان چراغ بيار
و يك دريچه كه از آن
به ازدحام كوچۂ خوشبخت بنگرم
فروغ فرخزاد
من از نهايت شب حرف مىزنم
من از نهايت تاريكى
و از نهايت شب حرف مىزنم
اگر به خانۂ من آمدى براى من اى مهربان چراغ بيار
و يك دريچه كه از آن
