The Bridge

Thus spoke Abdullah to me
On the rose there moves
On the rock there moves
Under the bridge there moves
This light of love
And he spoke
The rose comes to flower in the rose
The rock rests in the rock
The bridge spans the bridge
And in childhood the root takes root
But I spoke
The light throws me into the rose
The rose lets me flower in the rock
The rock roots me into the bridge
And the bridge spans
From meridian
To meridian

Auf der Rose bewegt es sich
Auf dem Felsen bewegt es sich
Unter der Brücke bewegt es sich
Dieses Licht der Liebe

Die Rose erblüht in der Rose
Der Fels ruht im Felsen
Die Brücke dehnt sich aus in der Brücke
